I have set myself of a goal of posting daily. I usually post later in the morning. I am posting early, because I want to spend my time, before work, doing some serious knitting.
I have been working extra all summer, and my knitting has suffered. I have several projects ‘on the needles’ and need to get to them. I am knitting an Aran sweater for Bryan. I love the yarn, and the pattern. I am fully capable of knitting it, but it is a bit out of my comfort zone. I have a big reason for making it part of my comfort zone. I want to knit this sweater, and become fully comfortable knitting Arans. My mother’s family is Irish. Her maiden name is O’Donnell. I have a clan scarf, and want to knit them for family members. So…my learning to knit Aran comfortably is for a big reason.
I have been knitting for about 50 years. I am very comfortable with certain types of knitting, and in a way that works against me. I have become too comfortable and haven’t challenged myself enough.
Knitting keeps me balances, and helps my arthritis. I get to make great gifts, and have an Etsy store planned for a bit down the road. I primarily knit hats, mittens, socks, scarves, miniatures. I want to work into ‘critters’ and have many patterns for them. I use yarn to express my love of color, and my creativity. I am not an artist, but I love color and texture. Knitting answers that love for me.
Marble is my knitting buddy. She loves to sit near me, when I am knitting. Sometimes she is a help, and other times? Not so much. She loved Lion Brand Homespun yarn….and will cuddle it.
I will leave with a few pictures.
